Hans Anders Retail Group is the number one optical retailer in the Dutch market with two main optical retail brands: Hans Anders and Het Huis, at the affordable and higher ends of the market respectively. In the optical segment Hans Anders Retail Group operates over 300 stores and over 100 franchise stores in The Netherlands, Belgium and France. With its shop-in-shops formula Hans Anders Retail Group has branched out to become a significant player in the hearing aid market.

Development
Gilde acquired a majority share in Hans Anders Retail Group in November 2004 from Retail Network, a consortium of former VendexKBB retail formulas. Gilde and management have rapidly grown the company since the acquisition by opening new optician stores in Belgium and recently also in France where the Hans Anders formula has proved as successful as it is in The Netherlands. In 2005 Gilde acquired the remaining stake of Retail Network in Hans Anders Retail Group.
